VR Chat Pegasus in Blender

I think anyone who knows me well knows two things: I really like Star Trek, especially the 1980s movie era, and I really like being a Pegasus person on the internet. It's no surprise then I'm a big fan of VRChat.

A big problem for me is that there's a dearth of suitable VRChat avatars. There's a small amount of equine bases, but none of them really hit the spot. There's a tendency to lean into fandom stereotypes and make them massive overmuscled dudes, which really isn't it for me at all. So imagine my surprise when at Furality 2024's artist alley I stumbled across Carousel the Showpony.

Carousel is a very specific, niche thing. A circus clown lady with a ridiculous getup, huge bazongas and hips wider than her torso. Definately not my style. The lack of emotional expression (in the version I started with) is a distinct drawback. But you know what got me?

The hair. The mane and tail have an amazing physbone setup, swooshing side to side with every motion. I tried it on, saw their swish in my shadow cast across the ground, and immediately dropped thirty bucks. The emotions were really something else.

The clothes and materials are my work, as is some of the skeleton (new, narrower hips).

The head, hands, hooves and hair models are all the original work of Cinners.

The original "Monster Maroon" Starfleet uniform design was created by Robert Fletcher for Star Trek II: The Wrath Of Khan.

Indispensable help and advice was provided by Avi and Perpetual Motion.

This is still a work in process, very far from finished. I'm planning on doing the following:
